About Back Pain
Low back pain is one of the most common conditions people visit the physiotherapist for. At some point in their life, 8 in 10 Australians will have some form of back pain. With no gender bias, the most commonly affected age bracket are those of working age.
Low back pain can range from slight discomfort to debilitating pain which renders you unable to be mobile. It generally comes on quick, however, in most cases it is eased relatively quickly.

The major causes of back pain include but are not limited to;
- Poor Posture
- Incorrect lifting technique
- Poor ergonomics / Workstation set up
- Lack of exercise

Assessment & Treatment
Your therapist will perform a thorough assessment of your condition, including your range of motion and assessing what kind of movements induce pain. Your therapist will then discuss with you their diagnosis and may refer you for further investigative imaging if required.
Once a diagnosis has been made, your experienced therapist will discuss with you your treatment plan. They will educate you on your predicted recovery time, and suggest which modalities you will benefit from. Options may involve a combination of;
